We estimate that at least 192 million animals were used for scientific purposes worldwide in 2015. This is the most reliable figure to date. This June, we are looking for people to Move for the 192 Million animals used for science each year, and raise £192 to create a cruelty-free future for animals in laboratories. Here’s how you can take part: Go the distance – walk, run, cycle, swim or set your own way of moving 192 km over the month (that’s around 6 km a day, about 1.5 hours of walking!) Time based goal – move for 192 minutes a week (just 27 minutes a day – one short walk or workout!). You could even get your companion animal involved! Team up – share the challenge with friends, family, colleagues or even your companion animal, and split the distance together to make it more manageable. Weekend warriors – can't commit daily? Aim for 48 km a week and spread it our however you’d like. Try something new - spend 192 minutes a week learning a new cruelty-free hobby. Do something you're already amazing at - if you're a keen baker, why not make 192 plant-based cupcakes! Each challenger has a fundraising target of £192 to raise funds and awareness for the millions of animals still subjected to cruel and unnecessary experiments. Every step, kilometer, or minute counts, and every action helps raise awareness and funds to fight for a cruelty-free world. Sign up and join our mission today!
